This motor has a lot of power. I went from a 430L to this motor and couldn't believe the difference. Night and day. Also noticed that when I really fly it hard I'm using less of the battery, battery seems cooler, and the motor is totally cool. Very efficient motor. And the low price doesn't hurt either. Now I'm just waiting for the new Scorpion to go in my T-Rex 500.

HK2221-8 V2 Scorpion major improvement over 430XL |

With my poor collective management, I fly around basically at (close to) full pitch all the time which caused the 430XL motor to bog badly on loops, etc. I had moderate settings to ease the load on the 430XL(12T, 10 degrees pitch, 7 cyclic) - but would still bog when I combined maneuvers at high speed. Since the 430XL is not considered to be the weak point of the 450SE V2, I did not consider replacing it. After seeing the reviews, I decided to give it a try. Yes, I read about how the -6 version is really the hot one (hard on batteries too), so I was not expecting a huge improvement. Well, after a half dozen flights today, it subjectively feels like the HK2221-8 has about 30% greater power than the 430XL with the same flight times. Anyone that has made the investment in the 450SE V2, should spend the 55.00 and try this motor - it makes the 450 feel like a little rocket and no bogging! Amazing output for a 70 gram motor and always runs super cool.

I really like this particular motor on my trex 450. It's not mainhub bending fast and has just the right amount of torque for smooth 3d action. Pair it with the scoprion esc and you have one killer combo!

This motor seems to work quite well bog is almost gone. My problem with this motor is that it doesn't come with the right screws to mount it in the Trex motor mount plate. Because the entire motor physically spins instead of being in a "can" you must route the wires away from the vicinity of the motor, which is hard because the wires come out the top and get in the way of the motor mount plate.
The motor comes in a really nice package and includes three female gold plated bullet connectors. the motor leads already have the male ends attached.
I have limited use the motor as of yet but it sounds great and seems quite powerful.
