KONTRONIK announces a new software version 9 for all JIVE Controllers.
This version corrects the following:
In rare cases, the firmware would accidentally change the stored settings unexpectedly. (i.e. RPM while starting up) This would make the JIVE seem like it had forgotten its programming.
In the case of the BEC shutting down due to Inductive voltage back feeding from the servos, the BEC would take longer to bring back to full power. V9 restores full power after .5 seconds, and raises the shutdown voltage threshold out of the inductive voltage range.
KONTRONIK is offering a FREE upgrade to Version 9 for all Jive ESC’s regardless of current software version, until July 31st 2010. All JIVE ESC’s are required to be sent to KONTRONIK for update, along with a completed KONTRONIK Repair form.
Online update via Progdisk is NOT possible.

Under certain circumstances, such as under heavy vibration or sharp g loading, the control boards on Castle Phoenix ICE 200 and Castle Phoenix ICE 160 HV controllers may become separated from the power board. All controllers manufactured after June 1, 2010, are built with a retaining ring to secure the control board to the power board. Castle recommends that the following fix be implemented on all such controllers sold prior to the factory fix.
